Health Minister Etela Rajender on Friday said that the State government would tap into the resources of private hospitals if cases of the novel coronavirus increase to a point where all the isolation beds at government hospitals are occupied.
Interacting with local representatives of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and representatives of Private Nursing Homes Associations on Friday, the Health Minister said that at present arrangements were being made to provide healthcare
to at least 1,000 Covid-19 positive cases in the State.
Those who do not have enough space to self-quarantine themselves in their homes would be isolated in government quarantine facilities, he said.
The Minister said public must also realise that “we may not be able to provide five star facilities but we will ensure that proper medical facilities are provided to all the quarantined persons and Covid-19 positive cases”.
