The Winter session of Telangana state Legislature is all set to commence today in Hyderabad. The Demonetisation of high denomination notes and the measures that are being taken for on-line banking transactions will be discussed in the Assembly today on the first day of the session.

Chief Minister Chandrasekhara Rao has informed the TRS MLAs that the ruling party will be supporting the Centre’s decision on demonetisation, while taking part in the debate. However, he said the treasury benches will also explain the hardships that people are facing due to the decision.



Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Legislative Assembly has decided at a meeting held yesterday to extend the duration of the Question Hour from the present one hour to one half hours. The opposition Congress, TDP, MIM, BJP and others also proposed to discuss issues like farmers’ problems and students’ tuition fee reimbursement programme during the session.

The government is expected to introduce 7 bills including a new legislation on land procurement for irrigation projects and the Private Universities Bill. The session will initially have 12 sittings till 30th of this month and if necessary, it will be extended further.
