Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to organise the World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad from June 2 to 10. The conference would be organised to coincidence with the State Formation Day celebrations with Telugu language scholars, fans and pandits from across the world participating in it. 

The proposed conference and celebrations would be done under the supervision of the newly-formed Telangana Sahitya Academy. The Chief Minister on Tuesday decided to constitute Telangana Lalitha Kala Academy, Sangeet Nataka Academy and Folk Arts Academy also. The best Telugu dialect and best poetry is available in Telangana and the academies should become platforms to spread the literary flavour of Telangana to the world, the Chief Minister said at a review meeting on organizing the World Telugu Conference in Pragati

The Chief Minister said the proposed World Telugu Conference and its programmes should be held in such a manner that they should be heard and talked about the world over and become a milestone in the history of the State. On the occasion, hoardings should be put up in Hyderabad depicting the prominence and greatness of Telangana’s literary grandeur. 

The Chief Minister wanted well known and prominent literary personalities and followers of Telugu language living within the country and abroad to be invited for the conference. As part of the conference, KCR wanted gathering of poets (Kavi Sammelans), avadhanams and conferences on various genres of literature to be organised. He also wanted unpublished works of Telangana poets to be published for the World Telugu Conference.
