The Telangana government
has decided to erect a 125-foot statue of the architect of Indian Constitution
Dr B R Ambedkar in Hyderabad. The foundation stone for the world’s tallest
statue would be laid on April 14, which happens to be the 125th birth
anniversary of Ambedkar.
A committee headed by
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari has been constituted to find out suitable
place to erect the statue in the city. While Hyderabad Collector B Rahul would
be the convener of the committee,

Mayor Bontu Rammohan, Deputy CM Mahmood
Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy,
TSPSC chairman G Chakrapani are among the committee members.
The Chief Minister said the statue would be unveiled on the next birth anniversary of Ambedkar in 2017.
