The state government on Wednesday posted Yogita Rana, an IAS officer of 2003 batch, as the district collector of Hyderabad. She is presently the collector of Nizamabad district.
She is expected to take charge as Hyderabad District collector in a day or two.Prior to this, Hyderabad district has had no regular collector for several weeks now after Rahul Bojja went on a long leave. Joint collector M Prashanti has been given full additional charge of the post.
Officials in Hyderabad collectorate are happy about her appointment as she worked with them as joint collector three years ago. “She is ataskmaster and such an officer is needed for Hyderabad now,“ a senior official said.
Yogita Rana has her tasks cut out in terms of protecting
government land in the city , ensuring that court cases are won so that the state gets backs its land, improving conditions in primary health centres, identifying land for the TRS government's two bedroom housing project in the core city, improving the performance of SSC students in government schools, and ensuring that operation Muskan is successful i.e., the rescued child workers make their way into mainstream after a thorough follow up of the project.
It may be mentioned that Yogita Rana is the recipient of Telangana Excellence Award (TEX)-2017. She also received the national award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her excellence in civil administration, particularly in making Nizamabad Electronic National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) the best in the country.
