A police officer on duty was kissed by a 25-year-old employee of a bank during the Bonalu festival in Nallakunta on Sunday night.
The man was drunk, which perhaps explained his action, but the video of the kiss went viral on social media and the Nallakunta police booked him for ‘assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharging his duties.’
During the Bonalu festival celebrations at TRT Colony in Vidyanagar on Sunday, a procession was taken out in which some people under the influence of alcohol were dancing.

Inspector K. Mahendar was on duty directing the procession, when suddenly P. Bhanu stopped the police officer and kissed him on the cheek!
The police officer gave him a slap. The public was shocked at the incident and the police, taking a dim view of such amatory behaviour, booked P. Bhanu.
Inspector K. Muralidhar of the Nallakunata police said, “We booked a case on P. Bhanu under Section 353 IPC — Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty — and further investigation is underway.”
