One person has been killed and 30 others seriously injured on Tuesday after a passenger train derailed in a collision with construction equipment in southern part of the Netherlands.
Local media reported that The four-carriage passenger train was carrying about 50 passengers at the time of the crash.
It said, the maintenance team had been at work on the rails between the cities of Leiden and
The Hague when the crash happened wee hours in the town of Voorschoten.
The regional coordinator of emergency services said that 11 of the injured passengers were treated at spot and 19 were sent to hospitals.
The Police opened an investigation to establish if any crime was committed. Another independent probe was also opened into the cause of the crash.
