11 dead, 5 injured in southern Philippine clash

Eleven suspected members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have been killed and five others wounded in a clash with their fellow MILF members in Maguindanao del Sur province in the southern Philippines. 

The Philippine Army, in a statement, said the fighting broke



out on Wednesday afternoon in Pagalungan town. Meanwhile, it was unclear what caused the fighting between the two factions. The MILF signed a peace pact with the government in 2014, ending decades of bloody conflict in the southern Philippines.
