In China, 11 people have been killed while 44 injured when a driver of SUV vehicle deliberately crashed into crowds at a busy public square in Hunan province.
The attack took place on Wednesday night and injured mostly elderly people.
The driver, Yang Zanyun, 54, first ploughed through the
people with his vehicle and later went on a rampage attacking people with a knife.
Local police detained Yang and is investigating the case.
Knife attacks by disgruntled people in public places and schools to highlight their grievances periodically occur in China.
