In Turkey, twelve
people, most of them schoolgirls, were killed yesterday when a fire broke out
at a school dormitory in the southern city of Adana.

suggest an electrical fault may have triggered the blaze at Aladag in the
province of Adana but a full investigation is underway. A senior government
official said, a woman who worked at the dormitory was also among the dead and
that at least 22 other girls were injured.
