Muscat: A total of 13 expats were arrested for committing crimes in the Musandam Governorate, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced.
While eight were arrested for possessing psychotropic substances, four were arrested for entering the country illegally and one was arrested for stealing a mobile phone.
In a statement online ROP said, "The Coast Guard of Musandam police station arrested eight people of Asian nationality for possessing psychotropic
substances. Police seized various quantities of narcotics, including opium and hashish.
In the second case, the Department of Criminal Investigation in Musandam, Hina area in the Wilayat of Khasab, arrested four people "of Asian nationality for illegally entering the country".
Police officials added, "The Department of Criminal Investigation at Dibba police station arrested a person of Asian nationality who stole a mobile phone from a shop."
