Two bronze statues of former Ambassador to Mongolia and Padma Bhushan Awardee Gyalsras Bakula Rinpoche have been installed in Moscow. Gyalras Bakula Rinpoche was a prominent leader of Ladakh who served the country as Ambassador to Mongolia for a decade, member of Lok Sabha for two terms and minister in the erstwhile State of Jammu and
Kashmir.
The people in Mongolia and Russia revered the leader with high esteem because of his efforts to revive Buddhism in the erstwhile Soviet Union and Mongolia. The 6-feet statue in sitting posture was installed inside the Moscow Buddhist temple. Another 9-feet statue in standing posture was installed in a city park.
