5.8 magnitude earthquake hits northeast of Tokyo

An earthquake measuring 5(point)8 on Richter scale hit northeast of Tokyo on Japan's main island of Honshu today.The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) reported the quake was



measured at a depth of 33 kilometre, about 79 kilometre east-northeast of Iwaki on Honshu. There was no immediate warning of a tsunami issued by the Hawaii-based PTWC.
