An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Nepal in the early hours today. The earthquake jolted Nepal at 2:36 AM Indian time. National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center said that the epicentre was at Bhairavkunda in Sindhupalchowk district, about 65 kilometres east of the
capital Kathmandu. There have been no reports of any damage, injuries, or loss of life.
Many parts of Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim also experienced tremors at around 2:37 AM. In Bihar, tremors were felt in Darbhanga, Samastipur, Saran and adjoining areas.
