At least seven people, including a Balgatar Union Council Chairman Ishtiaq Yaqoob, were killed in a landmine blast targeting a vehicle in Balochistan’s Panjgur district last night. Deputy Commissioner of Panjgur, Amjad Somro, told media persons that miscreants had planted a remote explosive device to target a vehicle carrying Ishtiaq Yaqoob and

others who were returning from a wedding ceremony.

The attack comes as terrorist activity has increased nationwide, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the government's truce with the banned militant organization Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan was broken in November
