In Germany, 9 people were killed and about 150 injured, 50 of them seriously, when two trains collided head-on in southeast Germany today, a police spokesman said. The collision took place on a single track and one train was derailed.
The
crash between two local passenger trains happened this morning near Bad Aibling in the southern state of Bavaria near the border with Austria. Dozens of rescue teams are on site and helicopters carried some of the injured people to nearby hospitals.
