9 people killed in earthquake in Peru

A moderate 5.2-magnitude earthquake in Peru has killed at least nine people and injured more than 50. Among the killed was a US tourist.  Officials said yesterday that the quake knocked down about 50 homes



and cut off roads and power in the southern Arequipa region. According to the Geophysical Institute of Peru, the epicenter was 10 kilometers from the city of Chivay, capital of Caylloma province.
