Libyan navy has said, more than 90 migrants are believed dead after their rickety boat was damaged shortly after leaving the Libyan coast. Its spokesman, Ayoub Gassim said that the coast guard has rescued 29 survivors. He said a total of 126 migrants were in the boat, mostly African nationals.
In a separate incident, Doctors Without Borders, known as MSF,
has said it has recovered bodies of 25 migrants aboard an overcrowded inflatable raft in the Mediterranean. The bodies were discovered during the rescue of 246 people on two rafts, said the group. The death toll for migrants in the Mediterranean has reached at least 3,800 this year so far, making 2016 the deadliest year ever for migrants in the Mediterranean.
