Dubai: Heavy congestions on major roads around Dubai caused up to half an hour delays to early morning commute on Sunday.
Dubai residents have been experiencing heavy traffic jams during the rush hours since schools resumed classes this month, after a long summer break.

The Dubai Police has issued an advisory on social media, reminding motorists to drive slow when passing through school zones.

As of 8am, traffic moved extremely slow on the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, in the vicinity of Dubai Investment Park (DIP), with delays lasting 27

minutes.

The Dubai-bound lane of Dubai-Al Ain Road, stretching for nearly seven kilometres from the vicinity of Zayed University to Nad Al Sheba, was also heavily congested, with delays lasting about 12 minutes.
Ten-minute delays were also reported on Al Khail Road towards Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, particularly from Jumeirah Village Circle to Jumeirah Village Triangle.
Delays on Al Wasl Road, Al Aweer Road, as well as on D54 and D61 lasted between five and ten minutes.

Dubai-bound commuters on the perennially congested Dubai-Sharjah Road also experienced nine-minute delays.
