Armenian and Azeri forces engaged in new clashes yesterday, defying hopes of ending nearly three weeks of fighting over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo criticised Turkey over the conflict, in which Ankara backs Azerbaijan. He said its stance was worsening the situation in the conflict
zone, which is internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan but populated and governed by ethnic Armenians.
Turkey has increased military exports to Azerbaijan this year. The conflict has a potential to draw in Ankara and Moscow, if an amicable solution is not found out soon.
