Arrest Warrant issued for former Maldives President Mohammed Nasheed

In Maldives, an arrest warrant has been issued against former President, Mohamed Nasheed, by a criminal court. Police, in a statement, on Tuesday, said, the warrant has been sought over an investigation into the alleged misuse of state funds during his presidency.

style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; text-align: justify;">Nasheed, who was the country's first democratically- elected President was toppled from power in 2012. He was sentenced to jail in March last year after he was convicted on a terror-related charge.
