In Japan, at least 19 people including four elementary schoolchildren have been injured in a mass stabbing attack in Kawasaki city today.
Kawasaki Fire Department Spokesman Keiichi Hayakawa said the injured included one who is seriously injured and now shows no vital signs.
Public broadcaster NHK said at least three people were in critical condition.
The broadcaster said two knives were spotted at the scene, but
there was no immediate confirmation from officials.
The attack occurred at a park near a local train station, at the time of the morning commute.
Police said a suspected man had been detained, who had stabbed himself and suffering a serious wound.
The ambulances and fire engines have been rushed to the spot and Emergency medical tents have been put up to treat the wounded.
