In Burkina Faso, at least 29 people have been killed in two separate attacks. Government Spokesman Remis Fulgance Dandjinou said that 15 passengers, mostly traders, were killed when their vehicle rode over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Barsalogho area.
In the second attack, the spokesman said 14 people were killed
when food vans travelling in convoy were attacked. The food vans were carrying provisions for people displaced by the fighting.
A former French colony that ranks among the world's poorest countries, Burkina Faso has been struggling with an Islamist militant revolt since 2015.
