At least 40 people were reported killed in a bomb explosion at a religious event in the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday.
The explosion hit a religious gathering at the Uranus Wedding Hall on the airport road in Kabul, killing as many as 40 people and wounding another 80, Tolo news reported the Ministry of Public Health as
saying.
According to reports, people were celebrating Milad-ul Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Mohammad.
Early reports indicate the incident was a suicide bombing. It was unclear who as behind the attack, but Islamic State Khorasan Province has targeted civilian gatherings in Kabul in recent months.
