At least 40 soldiers killed in army base attack in Chad

In Chad, unidentified assailants killed at least 40 soldiers in an attack on a military base in the country’s western region Barkaram last night. Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno visited the site this morning and announced the launching of a military



operation to track the assailants. It is not yet clear who was responsible for the latest attack. However, previous attacks in the region have been blamed by the government on the Boko Haram militant group.
