Amid the Ukraine conflict, Russia's Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov yesterday said that at least 41 people had died while around 121 were hospitalized following the collapse of the Kakhovka dam on the Dnieper River in the Kherson region earlier this month.
Kurenkov also said that more than eight thousand people were evacuated from the flood zone. Meanwhile, the United States has announced an additional aid of 1.3 billion dollars
for Ukraine to help the conflict-hit country overhaul its energy grid and modernize its ports, railways, and other infrastructure. This was announced by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The US Secretary of State said that recovery is about laying the foundation for Ukraine to thrive as a secure, independent country, fully integrated with Europe and connected to markets around the world.
