Mexico: In Mexico, at least seven people have been killed and 28 injured when gunmen opened fire at a public swimming pool in the central state of Guanajuato.

President Joe Biden renewed his calls for tougher gun laws after the incident. In a statement,  Mr. Biden said the nation was once again grieving and described the rise in shootings as outrageous and unacceptable. He said the American people wanted lawmakers to act on common-sense gun safety

reforms.

According to a statement from the state attorney general's office, when local security forces arrived, they found dead bodies, including a 7-year-old child. The Mexican army and security forces have been deployed to search for the gunmen behind the attack, which took place in the city of Cortazar.

No arrests have been made and authorities said they are investigating the motive.
