In Iraq, at least 74 people have been killed and 93 injured in the twin gun-and-car bomb attacks near the city of Nasiriyah. The attacks in the province of Thi Qar yesterday started with unidentified gunmen opening fire inside a restaurant on the main highway that links the capital Baghdad with the southern provinces. Most of
the dead are likely Iranian visitors who were inside the restaurant.
In the second incident which occured shortly afterwards, an explosives-laden car targeted a security checkpoint in the same area. According to reports, ISIS claimed responsibility for the suicide attacks.
