At least eight people have lost their lives following Hurricane Beryl’s impact on south-east Texas and Louisiana in the United States. The storm left nearly three million residents without electricity. Beryl made landfall on Monday morning as a category one hurricane in the southern region but
has since weakened to a tropical depression.
Local media reported that over 1,100 flights were canceled at Houston’s primary airport. Houston, being a low-lying coastal city, faces significant flood risks.
