Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reached the United States yesterday to take part in the four-nation Quadrilateral summit scheduled to be held in Delaware on 21st of September. Talking to reporters in Philadelphia, the Australian Prime Minister said, four great democracies – India, Australia, Japan and the United States are committed to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and are driven by the common objectives. Mr Albanese said he is looking forward to holding discussions with leaders of the grouping including Prime Minister Narendra
Modi.
The Quad’s focus is also likely to be on China and its activities in the region. Confirming it during a media briefing yesterday, National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby had stressed that Quad leaders will be holding talks about the challenges that exist in the region caused by China.
