In Switzerland, an avalanche burst into a hotel through the windows killing at least four people. Police said that three people were also injured in the incident.
Many parts of Europe has been hit by high snowfall leading to chaos leaving roads blocked, trains halted and schools shut. The series of storms have killed at least 21 people over the past week in
eastern and northern Europe.
In Germany, a nine-year-old boy was killed by a falling tree and the driver of a snow plough died after his vehicle toppled into an icy river. Earlier in the week, a 62-year-old teacher was killed while skiing in Austria when he fell and became buried in a snowbank.
