Bahrain affirmed that Bahrain, under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, always declares its firm position towards the Palestinian cause, and renews its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is their right to establish their independent state, in accordance with the two-state solution, the principles of international law, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The statement was made by Bahrain’s Speaker of Parliament. A Bahrain's Speaker of Parliament, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, recently participated in an emergency meeting of the Conference of the Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss the situation of the Palestinian cause. 

The meeting was called in response to the blatant attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the attacks and violations against the Palestinians, and the Israeli police forces' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacking worshipers.

Al Musallam condemned the Israeli police forces' actions, calling them a provocation to the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world and a



violation of international law. He also reiterated Bahrain's firm position towards the Palestinian cause and its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish their independent state in accordance with the two-state solution, the principles of international law, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The Speaker called for more international Islamic parliamentary efforts to adopt international positions to stop the attacks and violations, protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and the worshipers, and establish an international agreement to criminalize religious, sectarian, and racist hate speech in all its forms. He also praised the stances of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco, and all countries and peoples supporting the Palestinian cause.

The Palestinian cause is one of Bahrain's foreign policy priorities, and the Kingdom is committed to adhering to peace as a strategic option within the Arab Peace Initiative, providing protection for the Palestinian people, and emphasizing the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
