Paris: Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen met External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar in Paris on Monday. The meeting took place on the eve of the EU Ministerial Forum on Cooperation with the Indo-Pacific.
Dr. S Jaishankar invited Dr. Momen to the next round of the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) meeting to be held during the first half of the year, said a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Bangladesh.
Both the ministers observed that 2021 marked a high point in the Bangladesh-India relations with the visit of President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh to participate in the events related to the golden jubilee of the liberation of Bangladesh, birth centenary of
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 50 years of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
After the meeting, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar tweeted that it was appropriate that the meeting took place on the International Mother Language Day. He noted that 2021 was a great year for the relationship between the two countries and India is committed to taking it to an even higher level in 2022.
The two Ministers also recalled the successful events held in 18 cities around the world to observe the ‘Moitri Dibosh’ or Friendship Day on 6 December 2021 marking 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two country.
