Thirteen people were killed and several others injured after a van ploughed into pedestrians in the Las Ramblas area of Barcelona, Spain, on Thursday.
The incident took place in a popular tourist place.
Reports say that a white van mounted a sidewalk and crashed into a kiosk on La Rambla.
The driver of the vehicle is said to have fled the
area.
Although there is no confirmation, the incident could be a terror attack.
On December 19, 2016, a truck was driven into the Christmas market next to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church at Breitscheidplatz in Berlin, leaving 12 people dead and 56 others injured. One of the victims was the truck's original driver, Łukasz Urban, who was found shot dead in the passenger seat.
