Boat capsizes on Niger River killing around 100 people

In northern Nigeria, a boat capsized on the Niger River, killing around 100 people. Police and local residents said the vessel was carrying people including women and children, who were returning from a wedding in the village of Egboti in Niger

state.

Police said the accident happened early on Monday. The boat capsized in the state of Kwara, which is close to the neighboring Niger state. The search for survivors has been intensified.
