A SHOPPING centre in Belgium has been closed off by police after they were told there is a bomb inside.
Officers have rushed to the scene and shut the area down.
Public transport has been stopped on and around Woodrow Wilsonplein.
The 'Gent Zuid' shopping centre was mentioned in a call to police, according to local media.
A driver reportedly called police after finding something stuck to one of the parcels in his delivery van.
It is not clear if he is an employee of the shopping centre.
Army and police bomb squad officers descended on the area after being told there was an explosive



on the premises.
Woodrow Wilson Square has been cleared and traffic stopped.
A huge 200m cordon has now been stretched around the area.
Ghent police told VTM NEWS they were alerted to a bomb threat.
All buses on the square, are routed through R40.
Ghent is around 56km from the capital of the country, Brussels.
Belgium has been on high aleet since being targeted in March last year.
In 2016 metro stations and an airport were attacked by ISIS jihadis
The attacks were the deadliest terror bombings in Belgium's history, and claimed the lives of 32 people and dozens more were injured.
