Brazilian police have arrested 10 people suspected of planning terrorist acts during next month's Rio Olympics. Brazil's Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes yesterday said that the group was inspired by ISIS and mostly organized online. The group members were all Brazilian citizens and in contact via internet messaging groups such as WhatsApp and
Telegram.
The Minister said no specific targets were mentioned but the Justice Ministry is still investigating the suspects' computers and cell phones to learn more about the possible plans. The arrests came a week after the truck massacre in France and amid growing fears of a possible attack during Olympics to be held in Brazil from 5 to 21 August.
