Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is leading her Republican rival Donald Trump by five percentage points in a "much tighter" race to the White House, according to a latest poll.Clinton is favoured by 49 per cent of likely voters as against Trump's 44 per cent, as per the results of the latest poll released by CNN/ORC.CNN described this as a "much tighter" race to the White House.
Libertarian's Gary Johnson and Green Party's Jill Stein are backed by three and two per cent respectively.As per RealClearPolitics,
which keeps track of all major national polls, Trump, 70, is now trailing 68-year-old Clinton by 5.5 percentage points, the poll said yesterday.
Clinton now stands at 53 per cent among voters under age 45, compared with 47 per cent in the previous CNN/ORC poll.The only age group where Clinton currently trails Trump is among 50-64, who back Trump by four points in this poll, the news channel said.
Clinton has a wide 12-point lead among women, while Trump edges Clinton by a narrow three-points among men.
