Countries from across the world including Latvia, Australia, Bhutan, Maldives, and Columbia amongst others have greeted India on Republic Day. In a tweet, Australia’s foreign minister Marise Payne said that Australia and India are comprehensive strategic partners. 

The minister said that the two countries share many things-democratic values, a national day, and close economic and diaspora links. The minister added that Australia looks forward to continuing work with India on



the shared vision for the Indo-Pacific.

The foreign minister of Maldives Abdulla Shahid said in a tweet that India is the most trusted friend and closest neighbour of Maldives. He hoped that the long-standing partnership between the two countries continues to flourish and thrive, delivering mutual benefits for the people. Thanking him, India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that the friendship between India and Maldives will continue to prosper.
