Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that his country is “committed” to the ceasefire deal proposed by US President Joe Biden in exchange for the release of hostages. Speaking at a special Knesset plenum session summoned by the opposition, he emphasised that their position remains unchanged.
Biden first presented the deal proposal to end the ongoing conflict in
late May. Netanyahu’s announcement marks the first time the Israeli side has confirmed that it approves and supports the proposal. Netanyahu further told the Knesset that Israel would not end the conflict until they bring back all 120 hostages, both the living and the fallen. He also stated that the conflict will continue until Hamas is eliminated.
