The death toll from Cyclone Chido in Mozambique has risen to 45. The National Institute of Risk and Disaster Management announced it today. In Malawi, the death toll from the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Chido has risen to 13 while more than 45,000 people are affected by heavy rains.

Cyclone Chido’s rampage on the French territory of Mayotte and



south-eastern Africa has left a wake of devastation in its path. Tens of thousands of people have been presumed dead in Mayotte, with a confirmed number of 22 deaths and 1,400 injuries so far. It upended and collapsed properties and vehicles after pummeling the French island and parts of the African continent for several days.
