In Nepal, the death toll from floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains has reached 60. Twenty-six persons are still missing and thirty-eight have been injured in various parts of the country in rain related incidents during the last four days.
Heavy downpour since Thursday has hit 28 districts, affecting more than 10,000 households. Nepal Police and Army personnel have safely rescued over 1,400 people so far.
Transport services and electricity supply was also disrupted due to floods and landslides in many parts of the
country. Efforts are on to open highways and restore power supply.
According to Flood Forecasting Division, water level in all the major and medium rivers is likely to remain near the danger mark.
People living on the banks of rivers are advised to be . Meteorological Forecasting Division has forecast rain at many places.
There are chances of heavy rainfall at a few places of the central and western regions and at one or two places of the eastern region.
