Death toll rises to 56 in Typhoon Hagibis in Japan

In Japan, the death toll due to Typhoon Hagibis which had slammed Tokyo and surrounding areas rose to 56. According to the country's national broadcaster NHK, 15 people are still missing. Rescuers worked through the night searching for



survivors.

Typhoon Hagibis had hit the country on Saturday night, unleashing high winds and torrential rain across 36 of the country's 47 prefectures. Hagibis triggered landslides and floods.
