Direct talks with Putin 'only way' to stop the war, says Ukrainian President Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Thursday that "direct talks" with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin is the "only way" to end the war.

While seeking increased military aid from Ukraine's western allies, Zelenskyy also cautioned that if Ukraine falls, Baltic states could be next.

Emergency Service has claimed that more than 2,000 civilians have died since the beginning of the Russian invasion. On Wednesday, the United Nations General Assembly voted in favour of Russian withdrawal from Ukraine. Meanwhile, in a series of tweets, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine has asked all Indians to leave Kharkiv immediately "under all circumstances" as Russia continues its lethal bombardment of Ukraine’s second largest city.
