Dubai soon to experience 'green rain'?

Sat 01 Apr 2017, 19:44:38
Well, if we are to believe Careem, the home-grown Dubai-based ride-hailing app, this might happen soon after it announced that the company will be "sponsoring cloud seeding across the UAE as it's proven to be so good for business."
"Over the past few weeks the company has seen a huge rise in the number of people using the service for both short and longer journeys due to increased rainfall across the region," according to a Careem statement.
"Careem has seen an increase of 15 to 20 per cent in bookings during the stormy weather. This has been witnessed especially during rush hour when people are going to and from work," it added.
To further boost its business, Careem will sponsor cloud seeding that will increase the amount of rainfall by releasing pure salt crystal, silver iodide, potassium iodide

or dry ice into the air, which helps to change the processes within the cloud.
But it's not just your ordinary rain that Dubai will experience, it will be eco-friendly and 'green' too.
Residents and visitors alike will start to witness green coloured rain falling from the sky following Careem's commitment to supporting cloud seeding.
Careem pointed out that cloud seeding or rain on demand has been an extremely successful project for palm tree farmers in the desert, as it has helped to improve the environment in eastern areas of the region. This positive impact has also been felt by a number of businesses, including Careem.
But wait,  isn't today April Fool's Day? You didn't actually think this news was real, did you?
We just want to pull your leg and send you good vibes on this day. Cheers!
