Russian President Vladimir Putin has said India remains his country's major foreign trade partner. Talking to a news agency in Moscow ahead of the BRICS Summit in Goa, Mr Putin said both countries have resolved to overcome the negative trend which is largely associated with volatility in global markets and in exchange rates. He said the energy sector plays an important role in trade and economic cooperation between the two
countries.
Saying that construction of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant is the largest long term project, Mr Putin said operation of first and second units of the plant will significantly increase the energy supply in India and strengthen its energy security.
On other areas of India-Russia cooperation, the Russian President said both countries actively collaborate in the military technical field.
