Donald Trump has become the first former US President to be convicted of a felony after a grand jury in New York found him guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up a payment to silence a porn star ahead of the 2016 Presidential election, mounting his legal challenges amidst his bid to return to the White House in
November.
In a historic verdict, a panel of 12 Manhattan jurors on Thursday said they unanimously agreed that Trump, 77, falsified business records to conceal a $1,30,000 hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels to influence the 2016 contest. The decision came after about a day and a half of deliberations.
