The fighting between rival military factions has again intensified as fighting rocked the Darfur region, Sudan on Wednesday. The almost two-month-old war between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has so far forced 20 lakh people to flee their homes. Many cities including Khartoum, El Obeid, Nyala, El Fashir, and El Geneina are



facing a humanitarian crisis due to the war in which over 1,100 people have lost their lives.
 
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed his concerns about the increasing ethnic dimension of the violence, as well as about the reports of sexual violence.
