Dhaka: Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra arrived in Dhaka late in the evening on Tuesday after completing his two day official visit to Nepal.
On arrival in Dhaka from Kathmandu, the Foreign Secretary was received by the Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen.
Foreign Secretary Kwatra will hold the Foreign Office Consultation (FOC). The last FOC was held in Delhi in January 2021.
The Foreign Secretary is set to discuss the the entire range of bilateral relationships including political and security, water, trade and investment, power and energy, defence, connectivity and sub-regional cooperation.during his official visit on Feb 15-16, said a press
release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday.
Foreign Secretary Kwatra will also call on Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen and pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during his official visit. He is set to return back to India on Thursday.
The High Commission of India in a tweet called the visit of the Foreign Secretary a ‘significant stride towards fortifying the strong India-Bangladesh partnership and charting the path for a brighter future’.
This is the first visit of Vinay Kwatra to Bangladesh after taking over as Foreign Secretary in May last year.
