Former PM of Nepal Sushil Koirala passes away

Former Nepal Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala passed away at his residense in Kathmandu in the wee hours Tuesday morning.

According to family sources, Mr Koirala succumbed to Pneumonia at 12.50 a.m. He was 76 years old.

He was suffering from Chronic



Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Mr Koirala was not able to attend formal events on Monday.

He passed away in the midst of preparations for Nepali Congress General assembly, which is barely two weeks away, and was making every effort to retain the party leadership.
